My Story - and I'm Sticking to It

I was born and raised in a small college town in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. When I was six years old, my family fell apart and we were hurtled through the legal system for the next six years. I decided I wanted to be a lawyer to help people in general and kids in particular. And while I swore I would never set foot in a family court, I realized in order to help children and families, I had to because family court is the first point of contact most children have with the legal system.

My Lawyering Journey

While I started out my career at a huge Wall Street firm in New York City to pay off my student debt, the day after I made my final student loan payment, I became a juvenile attorney. And while the 80% pay cut was breathtaking, I never looked back.

The privilege of making a difference in the lives of real people was worth every penny. In the years since, I have searched for ways to practice law that are more collaborative with and responsive to my clients’ needs and less focused on business as usual.

Rogue Family Law

The “access to justice” gap is growing daily within our state and the Rogue Valley as the costs of legal services rise – including all of the resources we use. Many families are being priced out of the legal market. Rogue Family Law grew out of my struggle to find sustainable ways to help families find positive transformation during the legal process.

We have always collaborated closely with our clients, built effective networks with experts from other professions and used technology to “work smarter” to help our clients achieve their goals. But we haven’t been able to reach the broader range of families within our community who can’t afford full-service, traditional representation.

To balance the need for high quality advocacy with affordability, we have redesigned the way in which we are working with clients. Fine-tuning and expanding our team and tools, we now offer a range of services from do-it-yourself assisted representation to workshops, collaborative law and mediation. We are still available for full service representation if necessary but our focus on your life and your case means we now have the flexibility to do it your way.
