Service of Petition for Dissolution

 

The Service of Petition for Dissolution workflow is the one to use if you are married and have filed for divorce (dissolution) and still need to formally deliver (serve) the documents you filed to your spouse.

After you finish answering the questions in the workflow “interview,” you will receive an email with copies of the paperwork (or “documents”) you need including:

• The official notice (summons) to your spouse which includes required notices about insurance and property
• The official notice to child support enforcement (if you have kids) that you are divorcing your spouse
• A trial selection form for your spouse (and you in case you didn’t use our petition workflow) telling the court what kind of trial you want
• Optional Documents for your spouse if they agree to informal delivery of the documents and/or agree with what you said in the petition and don’t want to go to court
• The documents you will need to get a default if your spouse does nothing so you can then wrap up your case with a judgment (using the judgment workflow)
