Petition for Dissolution (Married)

$250.00

This is the workflow to use if you are married and need to start your divorce (dissolution). After you finish answering the questions in the workflow “interview,” you will receive an email with copies of the paperwork (or “documents”) you need to start a case.

This workflow includes:

  • Your Petition – which lists facts about your family and tells the judge what you want done about the issues, including parenting, property and support
  • Information documents the court requires (4 total)
  • A trial selection form telling the court what kind of trial you want

The Document Portal: Petition for Dissolution Workflow lets you prepare your court paperwork using our forms from the comfort and privacy of your home.  You complete our online “interview” and it will generate the forms you need to get your case started or respond to one that has been started by the other party.

At the end of your interview, you will see a page with all of the questions and your answers. Review this carefully and make any changes so it’s correct and complete. When you are done, select “continue” to go to the page with all your documents. You can:

  • review and print your documents from that page
  • download them
  • have them emailed to you in your choice of PDF, Word or both

You will then be ready to print, sign and file your documents with the court by following the instructions in the Portal Course. If you choose to get your documents in Word, you will be able to make changes directly in the documents (as opposed to changing your answers in the portal). Make any changes and proofread them carefully before you print them. When you are done with your interview, you should have the following documents:

  1. a petition- the document that tells the judge what you are asking be ordered in your case.
  2. confidential information forms that provide  the court and judge with key information about everyone in the case
  3. a notice that you completed the confidential information forms
  4. an official summons to formally notify your partner/spouse that you have filed the case
  5. a vital statistics form that the court requires to complete you case
  6. an insurance notice form required under Oregon law.
  7. Information about what to do if your partner/spouse doesn’t answer so you can wrap up your case and which forms to use next.
